What's new in Linesman

New features and improvements, newest first.

The Free plan now blocks bot checkouts

  • Free blocks bot checkouts at the payment step in Balanced mode, with automatic and manual block lists.
  • Pro is for attacks and savings: Strict mode, Attack mode, Klaviyo and Omnisend suppression, unlimited cleanup and auto-clean.
  • Every new store gets every Pro feature free for 14 days, with nothing to approve. After that it keeps the Free plan.
  • During and after an attack, Free stores see how many more bot checkouts Attack mode would have stopped.

Shield status straight from your admin

  • Linesman now sees that the Shield is switched on in your theme without anyone visiting your store, so setup finishes as soon as you click Save in the theme editor.
  • If a theme change switches the Shield off, every Linesman page shows a banner with a one-click fix.
  • While the Shield is known to be off, a missing browser check no longer counts against shoppers at checkout.
  • New installs get a short welcome note from the founder, with a direct line for questions.

Klaviyo signups, Omnisend and a clearer dashboard

  • Bot signups from Klaviyo forms: Linesman checks new Klaviyo profiles every 15 minutes and lists the bot-looking ones in Cleanup, where you can suppress them or keep them (Pro).
  • Omnisend: cleanup now unsubscribes bot emails in Omnisend before deleting the customers (Pro).
  • "Saved vs what Linesman costs" on the dashboard, with every figure taken from real counts and your settings.
  • In quiet weeks, the dashboard and weekly email show the protection that stays on.
  • Bait product rule (optional): a hidden product tagged linesman:bait that only catalog-scraping bots find.
  • Watch mode now says plainly that bots can still check out until you turn on protection.

Attack mode controls and the free-item rule

  • Start Attack mode by hand for 1, 4 or 24 hours, or turn off the automatic one.
  • "Require a paid item" (optional): stops carts where every item is free.
  • Public privacy policy and terms.

First beta

  • Bot Receipt: a 90-day scan of bot checkouts and fake customers, with estimated costs and a check against your real orders.
  • Watch mode, the checkout guard on Shopify Functions, and the Linesman Shield app embed.
  • Automatic attack detection, attack emails and the weekly receipt.
  • Cleanup with a backup CSV, and Klaviyo suppression.
